LARNED — The Larned Music Club will present pianist Alec Tauscher in concert at 3 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Larned Community Center.
The concert is a part of the annual Larned Music Club chocolate fountain scholarship fundraising event. The tickets are $5 and 100 of the money goes into the fund for music scholarships, music camp fees and other assistance for Pawnee County music students.
Tickets are available at the door, or in advance from any Music Club member. Immediately after the concert everyone is invited to the gym for wonderful chocolate fountain treats.
Alec is the son of David Tauscher and Pei-In Yang and grandson of Betty Tauscher and Eldon Tauscher of Larned. He is working on his master’s degree at Manhattan School of Music in New York City under the guidance of Phillip Kawin.
Over the last eight years, Alec has performed throughout the country and won numerous prizes. He has been a semifinalist and a first-place winner in the Crescendo Music Awards in Tulsa, Okla. and the Daniel Piano Competition in Greenville, S.C.
