Larned VFW Auxiliary
luncheon Wednesday

LARNED — The Larned VFW Auxiliary is serving a noon meal on Veteran’s Day, Wednesday at the Post, starting at 11:30 a.m. and lasting until 2 p.m.
There will be three different types of soups to pick from, sandwiches, desserts, and tea or coffee. A nominal fee will be taken at the door.
Proceeds help with various worthy projects such as donations to VA hospitals, Wounded Warriors and the VFW.

Garfield turkey shoot
scheduled Wednesday

GARFIELD — Garfield’s 91sth annual turkey shoot will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Porteous Park in Garfield. Veterans’ Day bingo will begin at noon. Prizes include a 12-gauge shotgun.
Lunch featuring bacon, ham and turkey will be served by Episcopal Church members. The Veterans’ Day event is under the auspices of Tony Asher Post 300, The American Legion, Garfield, a nonprofit organization.

Quilting Diva sale
scheduled Saturday

LARNED — The public is invited to the annual Quilting Diva Sale on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church 8th and Morris, in Larned.  Please enter by the northwest door in the rear parking lot.  
Many kinds of quilting items will be offered as quilts, lap robes, wall hangings, table runners and mats, placements, Christmas decorations, other numerous items as well as aprons and  younger girls hand- made dresses, quiet books, and cookbooks. Something for everyone made by skilled quilters and seamstresses.  Refreshments will be served. For  information call 620-285-6033.
