‘Trails to War’ featured
LARNED — The Santa Fe Trail Center will present from “Trails to War,” a program by Ron Smith, attorney and well known local historian and author of Thomas Ewing Jr., Frontier Lawyer and Civil War General.
Smith will explore the affect of the Civil War on the Santa Fe Trail and western commerce. Many exciting events in American history occurred during the 60 years of wagon travel on the Santa Fe Trail.
The program will be held in the Trail Center’s auditorium at 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is half price: Adults $2, Students ages 12 to 18, $1.50, Children ages 6 to 11, 75 cents; Fort Larned Historical Society members are free.

Variety Show Sunday
LARNED — The Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary will present its annual Variety Show at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Adult tickets are $5 and students are $2.50.
Jerry and Julie Ford are behind the scenes, using their expertise in direction and stage décor. Luke Geer will serve as the master of ceremonies. Tom Seltman will be work as stage manager.
The entertainment will feature a band, a singing group, several medleys, dancers, and some stylish piano. “Montagga’s Group,” will perform along with Michael Wysong’s band. The show will feature twists and turns that will inspire and touch the heart of the crowd.
Endowment group to sponsor sale Nov. 28 at state hospital
LARNED — The Larned State Hospital Endowment Association will sponsor an Everything $6 fundraising jewelry and accessories sale at the LSH auditorium near the center of the Larned State Hospital grounds from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Most items, except specially priced specials, are $6. The event is sponsored through B&N Jewelry, a Kansas company.
Sales benefit the LSH Endowment Association, which has a mission of enhancing patient care at Larned State Hospital. For information, contact Brenda West Hagerman (620) 285-4595.
