Welcome Inn board members meet

LARNED — The regular monthly meeting of the Welcome Inn Leisure Center Inc. was called to order by President Charles Wonsetler at 12:45 p.m. Jan. 4.
In addition to Charles Wonsetler, the following board members were present: Ben Appel, vice president; Betty Tauscher, secretary; Jim Forrest, treasurer; Thelmarie Wilhite, historian; Ernie Ashley, financial secretary; and Roger Haberman, reporter. Guests were Elaine Appel and Mona Marie Wysong.
Jim Forrest gave the treasurer’s report. All bills were allowed.
Betty Tauscher reported that the grant for Yoga classes has been approved.  It will be a 16-week session with the classes meeting once a week on Monday, for 30 minutes. She anticipates that the Yoga classes will start in about two weeks.
Tauscher announced that National Volunteer Appreciation Week is April 15 to 21. Activities will include a late afternoon get-together at the Welcome Inn, with a meal.
Following the meeting the roofing authorities on the board of directors, Ernie Ashley and Ben Appel, climbed up on the roof. They acquired measurements for material needed to cover a specific storage area. The We4lcome Inn board appreciated their willingness to work on the many problems with the roof.
The next carry-in dinner is scheduled Sunday, Jan. 8, with Elaine and Ben Appel being the hosts. The carry-in dinner held Dec. 11 was hosted by Charles Wonsetler. There was a nice crowd and plenty of food. Baked potatoes and toppings were furnished.
The meeting adjourned at 1:35 p.m. The board will meet again at 122:45 p.m. Feb. 1.
