Commission to meet

City council to meet
LARNED — The Larned City Council will meet in special session at 6;30 p.m. Monday.
Agenda items include Chamber of Commerce Santa Fe Trail Days requests; amend section 5.33 of Municipal Code; amend section 9.12 of Municipal Code and an executive session.
Democrats to meet
LARNED — A meeting of the Pawnee County Democrats is scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Lounge of the Pawnee County Courthouse.
Ruth Searight, Pawnee County clerk, will speak regarding the new voting rules, followed by the regular meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Quilting workshop Tuesday
LARNED — In celebration of National Quilting Month, the Pawnee County Quilting Bees are sponsoring short workshops beginning at 1 p.m. at the Jordaan Library through the month of March.
The third in a series of events celebrating National Quilting Month will be on Thursday, March 22 at the Jordaan Library at 1 p.m. Virginia Bauer will present “Easy Circles.”
The demonstration will include samples for viewing and a handout of directions. Bauer is an active member of The Quilting Bees, the local guild in Larned. Interested individuals may call 285-1056 for information. The public is invited.
Garfield offers lunches
GARFIELD — The Garfield Lutheran Church will be offering free take-home lunches for the school age children of Garfield for Spring Break. If you are interested in taking part, you can come to the church from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday and pick up lunches for your children. If you need to make other arrangements, call 620-285-3475.
