Pawnee Commission
LARNED — The Pawnee County commission will interview prospective construction firms interested in work on the proposed $18 million Pawnee Valley Community Hospital. The interviews will start at 1 p.m. Monday, March 28 at the second floor of the county courthouse. Construction firms to be interviewed are Hutton Construction, Wichita; Murray Company, Overland Park; and J.E. Dunn Construction, Kansas City, Mo.
At 10:30 a.m., Pat Hinojas, Stifel Nicholas investment banking, Wichita, will discuss possible financing of the Public Building Commission bonds.
At 11:30 a.m., Mark Wagner, superintendent for emergency management and zoning, will discuss cell phone towers.
Karate lock-in party
LARNED — An all-night karate lock-in party is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. April 2-3 at the Larned Israeli/Okinawan Kobra Kai Karate and Mixed Martial Arts USA Academy, 505 Broadway.
Admission is charged. Anyone is welcome. You do not have to have any kind of martial arts experience. Cost of the party will purchaase pizza, donuts, juice and door prizes.
Self-defense competitions will be Kata and self defense competition. Special games will be Karate dodgeball, tug-of-war, air hockey and pool. Movies will start after midnight. Chaperones are admitted free.
