Pitch party scheduled
Jan. 27 at Larned VFW

LARNED — The Larned VFW Auxiliary will sponsor a Pitch Card Party on Monday, Jan. 27. A meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. and cards will be played afterwards.  There will be small prizes for high and low scores.  You do not need to bring a partner to play, just show up for the good food, fun, and fellowship.
There is a suggested donation of $6. Proceeds will go to The March of Dimes and local needs.

Fruit available

LARNED — The citrus fruit that has been ordered from the Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist School will be avail­able from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Larned Seventh-day Adventist  Church, 8th and Deanne. For information, call 620-791-7314.

BURDETT — The Burdett UMC will sponsor a taco night starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
 Tacos, nachos, desserts and beverages will be served for a free-will donation. The public is invited.

Pawnee’s lab day scheduled Friday

LARNED — The Pawnee County health department has scheduled its monthly lab day Friday at the Pawnee County Courthouse.  Appointments are being scheduled from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday.  
Call 620-285-6963 or 800-211-4401 to schedule an appointment. You need to fast 12 hours before your lab work is scheduled.
Lab choices are Profile which includes Complete Metabolic Profile (CMP), Lipid Panel, TSH and Hemagram (Complete Blood Count), $30, Individual tests, CMP, $15;  Lipid Panel, $10; TSH, $8; Hemagram, $10; Free T4, $8; PSA, $15; and HgbA1C, $8.  
The Pawnee County health department offers the service in cooperation with Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.  The lab day is private pay and no health insurance is billed.
 
Fort Hays Singers to perform Sunday

LARNED — The Fort Hays Singers will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyte­rian Church, 1004 W. 8th Street.
 The concert is part of the annual Larned Music Club chocolate fountain scholarship fundraising event.  The public is invited to the fellowship hall for chocolate fountain treats following the concert.

Legion chili cook-off
is scheduled Sunday

LARNED — The American Legion in Larned, 115 E. 7th Street, is sponsoring a chili cook-off Sunday.
Three judges will determine who makes the best and hottest tasting chili.  Judging starts at 5 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place. For information, call 620-804-1498. Chili will be sold after the cook-off.

Volleyball tournament
scheduled for Feb. 8

LARNED — In recognition of the 100th anniversary of Larned State Hospital, they will be sponsoring a coed vol­leyball tournament on Saturday, Feb. 8, in the AT Gym.  
The tournament is open to the public.  Players must sign a waiver and be 18 years old to compete. Registration is $20 per team.  Please register by Jan. 30 by email at LSHWellness@lsh.ks.gov or call Angela, 620-285-4360.


Walk-in flu clinic set
for Wednesday, Friday

LARNED —Walk-in clinics with no appointment for flu vaccine are being held every Wednesday and Friday of every week at the Pawnee County Health Department from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  
You can download the consent form at:   www.pawneecountykansas.com.  Flu vaccine is recommended for anyone 6 months of age and older.  
Flu mist and high dose vaccine are available. A signed consent forms by parents for children under 18 years of age are required.   Insurance cards will be needed.  Private pay fees are accepted and the department has a sliding fee scale available as needed.
