Rozel soup supper
set for Wednesday

ROZEL — Rozel United Methodist Church will sponsor a soup supper at 5:30 p.m. Wednes­day in the Fellowship Hall.  
The menu includes chili, beef and vegetable soup, chicken and noodle soup, cheesy potato soup, ham salad sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, chips, dessert and drinks. A talent show starts at 7 p.m., and will feature the G3 Youth Group. Free-will donations are accepted.

Celiac disease will
be topic Thursday

LARNED — A meeting to discuss celiac disease is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the courthouse lounge in Larned.  
Pawnee County Extension agent Donna Preisner, family and consumer sciences, will discuss symptoms and challenges of maintaining a gluten free diet.  
Keri Applequist will share several recipes, magazines and cookbooks that she has used to maintain a gluten free diet.  Everyone is welcome to share experiences.  For information, call the Pawnee County Exten­sion Office, 620-285-6901.  


Harbert benefit
set for Friday

LARNED — Thrivent Financial will match donations up to $1,000 for a benefit for Deb Harbert Friday night.
Chili, chicken noodle, and desserts will be served Friday at the Larned Middle School cafeteria during the Larned and Ellsworth basketball game, beginning at 5:30 p.m.  A free-will offering will be accepted. Donations can be made to the Deb Harbert Fund at Farmers Bank & Trust in Larned.

Lions Club event
set for Saturday

ROZEL  — The Rozel Lions Club will sponsor a breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9:30 Feb. 22 at the Rozel Community Building.
 The menu features sausage, pancakes, biscuits, gravy and French toast for a free-will offering.  Proceeds will go towards youth projects.

Candidate’s Chamber
visit rescheduled

LARNED — David Powell, Kansas insurance commissioner candidate, has rescheduled his visit to Larned Chamber of Commerce for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 5 at Chamber of Commerce, 5th and Broadway. Powell will discussing his book, “Obamacare Unwrapped,” and his participation in legislation.  

Hunter Safety Course

LARNED — A Hunter Safety Course will be held Saturday March 22, beginning at 8 a.m,. at the Larned Com­munity Center.  Students must pre-register for the course in order to get directions to complete the online portion of the certification.  Either call the contact, or visit www.safehunters.com for online registra­tion. Students must complete the online portion of the course (https://programs.ksoutdoors.com/prg/Programs/Hunter-Education-Certification) prior to attending the field day.  Each student will be issued a pre-test over the online materials.  To register, please call Mike Seeman at 620-285-6002.
