LARNED — Members of the guild met on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at the First Presbyterian Church of Larned.
A thank you note was read from Halle Barker for her entry in the Pawnee County Fair.
President Colleen Wolf noted quilting tips from a quilting magazine. The question was asked to the group, “What was the one thing you learned when you first started quilting?”
Announcements included the presentation by Pat Knoechel on Sept. 17 at the First Presbyterian Church of Great Bend. with a group from the guild attending.
The guild will attend the fundraiser at the Methodist Church on Aug. 24 for Dr. Okey’s mission endeavor in Nigeria.
Janis Lewis of Poulsbo, Washington has donated a quilt for a silent auction for this project. The guild has made over 100 receiving blankets for this project.
Ann Hicks discussed a friendship quilt project for the guild and distributed the final borders for the “Scardy Cat” wall hanging and muslin blocks due by Oct. 1. Diane Schultz distributed the October candle mat directions.
Melvina Prescott showed a quilt of valor for the Garfield Turkey Shoot and several members showed their “Scardy Cat” blocks.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, Sept. 1. Anyone interested in visiting the meeting are welcome.
