KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The owner of dozens of Mexican restaurants in several states, company officials, and local restaurant mangers are among 19 defendants charged in a federal multi-year, multi-state racketeering conspiracy to hire undocumented workers and tax evasion, the U.S. Justice Department’s Western Missouri office announced Tuesday. Maria’s Mexican Grill and Playa Azul in Great Bend are among the businesses implicated.
