Massages offered as fundraiser for Remi

Several local masseuses will be donating their services Saturday, July 22, to help raise funds for a young girl’s medical expenses.
Fifteen-minute massages will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 22 at 1614 Main St., Great Bend (next to Farmers Bank & Trust).

All money donated will go to help with medical bills of Remi Mauler, 8-month-old daughter of Trent and Chelsea Mauler, Great Bend. Remi has a condition known as anophthalmia, which means she was born with the absence of one eye. Both the globe (eye) and the ocular issue are missing from the orbit. She travels to Kansas City every 6 weeks to have an eye expander inserted. The expander will increase the eye socket, allowing for the insertion of a prosthetic eye. This procedure could take up to five years.
