HOISINGTON — On Labor Day weekend, Hoisington’s street dance will feature a new mobile beverage cart, inspired by a local’s personal health journey. The cart offers refreshing, non-alcoholic alternatives for those who want a festive drink without alcohol.
The idea for the cart came after founder Michelle Moshier experienced health improvements by eliminating caffeine and wine from her diet. Her passion for wellness and the increased awareness of alcohol’s cancer risks, particularly for women, motivated her to create fun and flavorful non-alcoholic beverages.
After completing a 10-week CO.STARTERS class through Great Bend Economic Development, Moshier turned this need into a side passion venture called “Can Do Drinks.”
The cart offers more complex and satisfying beverages than traditional soda and water, including alcohol-free craft malt beverages, hop waters, and premium non-alcoholic seltzers. Notably, it will be the first in Barton County to offer White Claw’s non-alcoholic seltzer, which isn’t yet available in local stores.
“I’m excited to be a part of this year’s Labor Day celebration,” said Moshier. “My goal is to offer for sale something special for those who might otherwise feel left out when it comes to enjoying a night out. Whether you’re abstaining for health reasons or prefer something different, I’ve got delicious options for you.”
Previously, Moshier unveiled her brand of “Can Do Drinks” Ceria non-alcoholic beverages to the over-21 tent city crowd at Hoisington’s Biking Across Kansas stopover event at the Hoisington Activity Center.
Moshier noted that Ceria was founded by legendary brewmaster Keith Villa and his wife Jodi Villa. Keith created Blue Moon beer and served as the brewmaster for Coors Brewing Co. “Ceria Brewing is dedicated to making only alcohol-free craft beverages now,” she said. “Keith created a patented method of providing alcohol-free beer that has body, flavor, and head retention. I’m excited to be part of helping to offer a great experience for the BAK group in their stay in Hoisington.”
On Sept. 1, the mobile beverage cart will be conveniently located on Main Street, just to the right of the stage featuring Homebrew, and across from the beer garden. Looking ahead, Moshier plans to bring Can Do Drinks to Final Friday events, offering another option during these popular community gatherings.
In addition to serving up delicious beverages, Can Do Drinks is committed to giving back to the community. All cans will be recycled to support the Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer organization.
To encourage attendees to explore these refreshing alternatives, Moshier added, “If you haven’t considered trying a non-alcoholic beverage before, this is a great opportunity. Why not ‘zebra stripe’ your drink choices? Start with a non-alcoholic option, then switch to your usual, and maybe end the night with another non-alcoholic choice, alternating throughout the night. Non-alcoholic beverages are generally lower in calories, which can be beneficial especially during a long weekend celebration like Hoisington’s Labor Day event.”
With a drink menu that appeals to a wide range of tastes, this new vendor promises to add a refreshing twist to this year’s street dance.
