On Tuesday, October 19, the documentary “The Need to Grow” will be showing at the Heartland Center for Spirituality as part of the fall Movies with a Message series.
With an estimated 60 years of farmable soil left on Earth, “The Need to Grow” is a character-driven story of innovators behind decentralized solutions and cutting-edge technologies. Underdog leaders face unpredictable challenges as they fight to heal our broken food system and regenerate the planet’s dying soils.
The movie begins at 6:15 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters of Peace, 3600 Broadway Ave. Other movies in the series include “The Two Popes” (Tuesday, November 16) and “The Christmas Chronicles” (Friday December 3). A freewill offering will be accepted to offset the cost of refreshments. Must be vaccinated to attend; masks are appreciated.
