Great Bend Internists and St. Joseph Family Medicine employees were among the many rural health-care providers and staff recognized Thursday on the first National Rural Health Day. Gov. Sam Brownback proclaimed the special day as part of a national effort to honor those who provide "comprehensive, compassionate, patient-centered and holistic care to patients" in rural areas. St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center owns GBI and SJFM.
