A Natoma woman died early Monday when the vehicle she was driving left U.S. 281 in Russell County and struck a culvert box.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports Rebecca Jean Johnson, 40, died at the scene of the accident, which occurred around 2 a.m., 6 miles north of Russell. Two small children in the vehicle, a 1-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, were taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with possible injuries.
Johnson was driving a 2003 Blazer. She was not wearing a seat belt, but both children were in safety restraints.
