New Great Bend police officers Blake Ridgel, right, and Gavin Crawford were introduced to the City Council Monday night by Police Chief Steve Haulmark. Both were born and raised in Great Bend, Haulmark said. They underwent two weeks of field training here before entering the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center near Hutchinson and graduating this past Friday. They now face another 12 weeks of field training.
