Claflin Library to hold fundraiser

 

CLAFLIN — The Claflin Independent Township Library will be having the Holiday Treats by the Pound fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 10. There will be all types of candies, cookies, baked items selling for $6 a pound. The proceeds will go toward a new front office area for checking out books with automation.

Santa Claus will also make his appearance from 10 a.m. to noon at the library with bags of goodies for the children donated by the city of Claflin. For more information contact the library at 620-587-3488.

 

Claflin vs. Hoisington Pink Out night to be held

 

HOISINGTON — Fans from Central Plains and Hoisington high schools are asked to wear pink to the first basketball game on the 2011-12 season on Dec. 2.

Central Plains and Hoisington KAY groups are co-sponsoring Pink-Out Night at the Hoisington vs CPHS at Claflin basketball game to help promote breast cancer awareness in our communities. Pink bracelets will be sold by the KAY at the game.

Proceeds will go to helping individuals and families that are fighting the fight against cancer and breast cancer research.
