Barton Community College will offer a Leadership Excellence Series presenting four sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Superior Essex, 75 E. State Rd. 4, Hoisington. The fee for the four sessions is $65, which includes the workshops, training materials and refreshments.

Speaker for the series is Shanna Legleiter, Barton’s Business Administrative Technology instructor/coordinator. The sessions include:

"Envisioning the Future" – Ensuring that your picture of the future connects with the strategic direction of your organization. Once you have that in place, you are ready to communicate your vision to others.

"Organizing the Operation" – Managing people and resources to produce the most work as efficiently as possible. A well-organized operation supports the customer experience, makes sense to the employees and ensures the achievement of business goals.

"Engaging the Team" – Letting employees take ownership of their work so they are invested in the results. When employees feel engaged, they will generate new ideas, support productivity and develop leadership at all levels of the organization.

"Committing to Results and Leaving a Legacy" – Supporting and sustaining change over the long term requires not only organizational systems, but also an ongoing commitment from the leader to keep attention focused on what’s important. People want to be led by someone they trust, someone who cares about them as individuals. A leader’s day-to-day behaviors can build trust and influence changes in the people of the organization. When these people consider the leader’s changes to be meaningful, that leader leaves a long-lasting legacy.
