EGS has new teachers

ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood Grade School has several new teachers. They are:

Katelin Clawson
I am teaching 6th grade at Ellinwood Grade School. I will also be assisting the women’s high school basketball team as the C team coach. This is my first teaching position. I have lived in Ellinwood almost my entire life, attending Ellinwood Grade School and graduating from Ellinwood High School in 2008. I attended Bethany College, playing tennis and majoring in Elementary Education with a Special Education endorsement. I completed my student teaching at Soderstrom Elementary in Lindsborg at the first grade level.  I graduated from Bethany College in December 2011. Now, I am looking forward to an awesome school year with my new class. Ellinwood has a very good reputation when it comes to education, and I hope to carry on that legacy.

Shelly Ramsey
I am the new K-6th grade music teacher in Ellinwood. I was born in Great Bend, but went to Ellinwood Grade School and High School. I graduated in 1999. I went on to Fort Hays State University where I obtained my Music Education Degree in 2003. I am also an assistant middle school volleyball coach and assistant high School track coach for Ellinwood this year too. I have two daughters, Brooklyn and Gentry. Brooklyn attends first grade in Ellinwood and Gentry attends Helping Hands Preschool in Great Bend.

Jodie Fisher
I graduated from Labette County High school, attended L.C.C., and graduated from Pittsburg Cosmetology school. I am married to Rob Fisher and we have four children Brett,Tate, Anna and Emma. I am working at EGS as a library aide and para.

Dustin Klassen
I am the EGS PE teacher in the morning and then teach middle school/ high school PE in the afternoon. Along with teaching, I am the head boys basketball coach and assistant football coach. I grew up in Hesston, graduated high school, and then went to Kansas State University. After a year, I transferred to Wichita State University where I received my bachelors degree in Physical Education. I married in the summer of 2007, graduated in 2008 and accepted my first teaching/coaching job in Great Bend. After four years there on staff I wanted to pursue my dream of being a head boys’ basketball coach.

Tricia Cauthon
I come from a small town called Healy. I am currently enrolled in Ft. Hays State University working on my bachelors in Elementary Education birth to third grade and Special Education. I am an interventionist at the grade school. I am married and have three  children. Photography is my hobby.

Kyle Kroeker

I went to Hillsboro High School and then Tabor College. I am married to Alyssa Kroeker and we don't have any kids. I teach 6th grade and will be an assistant football coach as well as assistant boys basketball coach. I love sports. I played in college and remains to be a hobby of mine. I also love singing and playing piano. I am a huge Nebraska Cornhusker Fan.
