The filing deadline for the 2026 Election is noon on Monday, June 1.

The following local positions will appear on the ballot:

• County Commissioner District 1
• County Commissioner District 4
• County Commissioner District 5
• City of Great Bend – One (1) Councilmember from each ward
• City of Hoisington – One (1) Councilmember from each ward
• City of Ellinwood – Three (3) Councilmember positions at-large
• Ellinwood Hospital District - Two (2) Board of Trustees positions at-large
• All Townships – Township Clerk positions
• Precinct Committeemen / Committeewomen – 1 per Precinct

All candidates file with Barton County Clerk’s Office, 1400 Main Street-Room 202, Great Bend.

• County Elected Positions filing fee: Call for Filing Fee
• City/Hospital/Extension positions filing fee: $20
• Township Clerk filing fee: $1
• There is no filing fee for Precinct Committee positions.

Any registered voter residing in the above-named districts may file for election on or before the filing deadline. If needed, a primary will be held on Aug. 4. The general election will be on Nov. 3.
