HOISINGTON — No, not real ones. Local Hoisington dignitaries will be locked-in jail as part of a fundraising event for Hoisington Main Street Inc. from 10 a.m. to noon on June 27, and the "jail" complete with bars is being constructed. The jail will be located on Main Street in front of HMSI.
Each of the individuals arrested will be served a warrant and delivered to the"jail" in the police car, barring real emergencies. To get out of jail, the suspect must raise a certain amount of funding.
The list of "perps" will be available soon.
This will be the 7th annual HMSI membership drive. The group has raised $3,920 so far and strive to promote Main Street. Funding for the program has been cut from the city. This effort will be one of several fundraising efforts.
"We want it to be a fun fundraiser," said Lindsay Bogner, chairmen of the organization committee. The group is busily constructing a jail this week.
