Roach Dirt Company from Great Bend begins demolition on the remnants of the Camp Aldrich Dining Hall, which burned down on April 12, Wednesday, Aug. 13.

Barton Community College, which operates the camp, intends to have a new facility finished by summer of 2015. Barton President Dr. Carl Heilman said though it’s sad to lose a building with so much history and nostalgia, the community can be excited about the prospect of a new, modern facility.

Dean of Administration Mark Dean said Roach Dirt Company came in as the low bidder and has been a wonderful partner throughout the process.
