Next Generation Leahy offers Celtic traditions
ent slt community-concert

The Golden Belt Community Concert Association will present Next Generation Leahy, a Celtic-based high-energy concert, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium, Lakin and Stone.
This GBCCA event is open to association members. No single concert tickets are available. Full-time students will be admitted for a $5 donation at the door.
Building on more than three generations of Leahy musicianship, Doug Leahy, his wife Jennifer, and their children, are keeping those traditions alive through music, song and dance.
Doug, as a member of Leahy, and Jennifer, having played music throughout her life, understand the joy and exhilaration only music can provide. Their children understand innately that music will be a huge part of their lives. Even the smallest children feel the music pulsing through their veins. They are drawn to it and they are passionate about it.
This drive to create music has led the children to high musical achievement. Even at their young ages, the children are accomplished multi-instrumentalists. Led by their father, their live performances are filled with the high-energy, infectious Celtic-based music associated with the Leahy heritage. Fiddle, cello, French accordion, singing, piano, and French-Canadian step-dancing all find their way onto the stage.
Doug Leahy and his family are set on letting every audience know that the joy of music is meant for everyone. The Leahy children include Adele, 14; Gregory, 13; Angus, 11; Cecilia, 9; Joseph, 7; and Evelyn, 6.
This concert is underwritten by Cheyenne Travel of Great Bend.
GBCCA season memberships will be available at this concert. Memberships offered include $50 for adults; $10 for full-time enrolled students; $110 for a family membership including two adults and all dependent children living in the same household; and $110 for a grandparent package for two adults and up to four minor grandchildren.
Those purchasing memberships at the concert are advised to arrive early. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. Season membership cards will be given at the time of purchase at the concert. Three shows are remaining in this season, The Next Generation Leahy, Alina Kiryayeva, and the All-American Boys Chorus.
