One injured in motorcycle crash

The driver of a motorcycle was seriously injured in a collision with a pickup Saturday afternoon at the intersection of 10th and Frey in Great Bend.
According to a press release from the Great Bend Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene around 2 p.m.. Great Bend EMS also responded and began to treat a 60-year-old male patient. He was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital and later transferred to Via Christi in Wichita in critical condition.
According to evidence obtained at the scene and witness statements, the motorcycle was westbound on 10th Street and struck a northbound, black pickup that ran the red light on Frey Street. The driver of the truck stopped at the scene to assist the injured man.
The crash report was unavailable on Monday and officials declined to name the motorists.
