Panther Pride Band Camps starts Monday

Great Bend High School freshmen band members, drum majors and section leaders will meet Monday, Aug. 5 to prepare for the upcoming marching season. Drum majors and section leaders will congregate at 7:30 a.m., with freshmen needing to check out a school instrument meet at the high school at 7:45 a.m. The entire freshman band will start playing at 8 a.m. and finish at 11 a.m.
Varsity Band members will meet from 9-11:45 a.m. on Aug. 12 and 13 to review their basics, and learn new music. On Aug. 14, Varsity Band members report at 8 a.m., and the freshmen from 9-11 a.m. Rehearsals are mandatory for all band students who wish to travel with the band to the Labor Day Parade, KSU Band Day, and the Kansas State Fair.
Uniform check out: The seniors in band will check out uniforms from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, and Juniors from 2-3 p.m. Sophomores will check out from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, and other upperclassmen from 2-3 p.m.. The freshmen band members will check out uniforms from 11-noon, or from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Jazz Band members will have practices from 1-2:30 p.m. on Aug. 15 and 16 to prepare for the high school Open House, and other fall activities.
