Award of Merit conferred
Dr. Merlene Baird, at left, of Larned, received an Award of Merit plaque from the Santa Fe Trail Association, during the organizations Rendezvous, on the evening of Sept. 17, at the Haas Building. Dr. Leo Oliva of Woodston made the presentation. The award was given for Dr. Bairds work on behalf of the Santa Fe Trail Association and its Larned-based Wet/Dry Routes Chapter. She almost single-handedly designed the menu, purchased the food, and prepared it for the evening meal at Rendezvous 2010, on that evening, Sept. 17, according to Traces, the Wet/Dry Chapters newsletter for the fall.
