Great Bend youngster helps animal shelter
paw jm humane society

LARNED — Ethan Reneau of Great Bend turned 11 on his most recent birthday, but he did something that most adults do not do — he requested presents not for himself, but for others less fortunate.
The others being of the four-legged variety.
A friend of Ethan’s had done the same thing earlier this year. At that time, Ethan told his mother when October rolled around, he too, wanted to donate to an animal shelter.
Ethan and his family personally delivered the “presents” on a recent Saturday afternoon, much to the delight and surprise of the volunteers of the Pawnee County Humane Society.
The Reneau family, all animal lovers, spent an hour visiting and playing with the dogs and cats at the shelter, and plan to come back for future visits.
“The Pawnee County Humane Society would like to wish Ethan a happy birthday and extend a big thank you to a very special young man,” said Brenda Morgan, Pawnee County Humane Society.
