Kinsley man killed near Garfield

GARFIELD — A Kinsley man died after losing control of a motorcycle after apparently striking a deer in southwestern Pawnee County Monday, July 16.
Pawnee County deputies report Mitchell Jerome Olsen, 59, of Kinsley, was found by a family friend in the 2400 block of F Road northeast of Garfield.
A search by friends and family was started by Olsen’s wife Debra, who reported that Olsen had left home before 7 p.m. to check on cattle and had not returned.
Deputies report that Robert Blecha of Kinsley found Olsen’s body just after 10 p.m. Monday. Pawnee County Deputy Grant Mausolf determined that Olsen died from injuries sustained after being thrown from his motorcycle.
Pawnee County Sheriff Scott King reported Olsen apparently struck a deer and was injured after being thrown from his motorcycle. Garfield and Burdett EMS also responded to the accident.
