LARNED — Larned High junior Colton Massey shot 3-over-par 75 at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City to qualify for the 2015 Kansas Amateur Golf Tournament July 20-26 at the Wichita Country Club.  Massey tied for fifth in qualifying at Garden City.
Massey is well positioned to qualify for the 2015 Junior Match Play Championship July 13-15 at Winfield’s Quail Ridge Golf Course.
Massey has placed runner-up (76) in a west district qualifier at Buffalo Dunes June 24; third place (74), June 3 at Brentwood Golf Course in Ulysses; and seventh place (79) at Dodge City’s Mariah Hills June 11. The final west qualifier is scheduled Monday at Smoky Hill Country Club in Hays.
The top 16 point qualifiers advance to the Kansas Junior Match Play July 16-17 at Winfield.
Earlier, Massey placed sixth in the Konza Prairie Classic at Manhattan and 11th in his age group at the 2015 Kansas Junior Amateur at Wellington Golf Course.
At Dodge City, Larned’s Caden Massey placed runner-up (52) in the 11-and-under division. Larned’s Dorothy Keenan tied for fourth (94) in the girls division.
At Garden City, Caden Massey placed runner-up (55). Keenan placed fifth with a 99.
