Larned runners earn first at Hays
Larned Indians clr NEW

HAYS — Medalist Justin Giesbrecht (17:59.2) and runner-up Danion Green (18:04.9) led Larned’s boys to the junior-senior team championship at the Hays Cross Country Invitational. The Indians scored 44 points, four ahead of Hutchinson Trinity Catholic.
Triston Long (18:57.9) led St. John with a ninth-place medal.
St. John captured the boys freshmen-sophomore division with 28 points. Top 10 finishers were AJ Miller, fourth (18:18.0); Mason Osborne, fifth (18:52.7); Trey Fisher, seventh, (19:02.9); Cashe McVey, eighth (19:07.8) and Wrangler Walker, ninth (19:11.7).
Larned’s Brooke Butler placed fourth in the ninth-grade-sophomore race (23:13.6). Larned’s Cierra Nord placed seventh (23:25.9). St. John’s Paige Doran placed 10th (24:01.0).
