LARNED — A ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday will mark the completion of a renovation project at the Larned Dillon’s store, 423 Main Street. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Larned store manager Sara Bryan said Dillon Companies keeps a list of projected store renovations.
“There’s a list of stores that might require renovation work and it was Larned’s turn for a major renovation,” she said. “It was one of the older stores in Kansas. It’s important to get stores updated and modernized. It’s been a while since the Larned store got some attention.”
Bryan said the renovation work will improve customer service on the inside and provide a better look on the exterior of the store. The Larned store is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“Our customer service has definitely improved,” she said. “There are more checkout stands. We’ve lost an aisle, but we’ve gained extra space between each aisle. It’s very easy to move through the aisles.”
The store’s customer service desk has been rebuilt. Six new checkout stands have created ample space with the latest technology for payments. Ten new freezer storage units will provide an even temperature for food plus easy access for customers.
Bryan said a new bakery freezer, meat cooler and dairy cooler will provide improved food service.
Bryan said customers will see improved customer-friendly service and more offerings of fresh foods and one-stop shopping capability.
“Dillon’s is always taking a look at what is most needed to make the most impact for our business and our customers,” said Bryan.
Bryan said work was done seemlessly with little or no interruption of customer service. Bryan said 50 full- and part-time employees work at the store.
