LARNED — While most Larned students stepped into the familiar halls of Larned High School last week, two students stepped in to a whole new world.
Alessia Pascarella and Nils Hoffman will attend high school in this central Kansas school as foreign exchange students. Pascarella calls home Pinerolo, Italy, which is near Turin, and Nils hails from Hanover, Germany.
Pascarella came to the United States to improve her English and to make new friends, for her one semester. While in the U.S., she will be staying with Larissa Whitney.
Hoffman also came to the United States to improve his English, to make new friends, and to learn about the culture here in Kansas. He will attend Larned the entire school year. He has immersed himself in the LHS drama program and the Larned Indian football team.
Hoffman has been cast for a role in the dinner theater on Sept. 19. He will audition for the fall musical. He is staying with Corrine and Ron Wray-Laveau.
