LARNED — The Pawnee County Commission met at 9 a.m. Nov. 14 at the Pawnee County Courthouse. The following are approved minutes submitted by Pawnee Commission clerk Ruth Searight.
9 a.m. — Pawnee County commissioners Donna Pelton and John C. Haas were present. Chair Kathy Bowman was absent.
The acting chair declared that a quorum was present and called the meeting to order.
Others present: John Settle, Pawnee County attorney; Sarah Steel, Gilmore and Bell; Public Building Commission members, Chair Tom Giessel, Tim George and Dick King, secretary.
Thereupon, there was presented a Resolution entitled:
A Resolution authorizing Pawnee County, Kansas to enter into a lease with the Pawnee County, Kansas Public Building Commission; authorizing Pawnee County, Kansas to enter into a sublease with Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, inc.; and authorizing the execution thereof and certain related documents in connection with the issuance by the Pawnee County, Kansas Public Building Commission of its hospital revenue bonds, series 2011 (Pawnee Valley Community Hospital project).
Thereupon, Commissioner Haas moved that said Resolution be adopted. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Pelton. Said Resolution was duly read and considered, and upon being put, the motion for adoption of said Resolution was carried by the vote of the Board, the vote being as follows:
Yea: 2; John C. Haas and Donna Pelton. Nay: none.
Thereupon, the Acting Chair declared said Resolution duly adopted. The Resolution was then duly numbered Resolution No. 2011-11, and was signed by the Commissioners and attested by the county clerk and was directed to be forwarded by the Secretary to the Pawnee County, Kansas Public Building Commission.
9:45 a.m. — Commissioners read and approved minutes of November 7, 2011. Commissioners approved and signed checks for payables.
Commissioners discussed Christmas for the Pawnee County employees.
10:45 a.m. — Shawn McReynolds. Informed the Commissioners of a 2012 “Bottoms Up” Outdoor showcase and Calling Contest scheduled June 15-17, in the EXPO I and II buildings located west of Great Bend. Requested support from Pawnee County.
Commissioners further discussed Christmas for Pawnee County employees.
11:35 a.m. — The meeting was adjourned until a special meeting scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 at Glory Be.
The next regular meeting is scheduled at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21.
