LARNED — The Pawnee County Commission met April 4 in regular session. The following are approved minutes from the commission clerk Ruth Searight.
9 a.m. — Pawnee County commissioners Donna Pelton, Kathy Bowman and John Haas were present.
Commissioners approved sponsoring a Chamber of Commerce coffee hour April 14 in the Courthouse Lounge, to honor Pawnee County Co-op (Hugh Mounday, manager), and Golden Valley Co-op (Ed Taylor, manager), for their business and economic commitment to Pawnee County.
Commissioners signed payroll change form for Talia Smith, new employee for CC/JJA, ISO, effective April 4, 2011.
John Settle, Pawnee County attorney, gave an update on Key Gas/BGB delinquent taxes.
9:10 — Donna Preisner, Pawnee County Extension Office, and Angie Murray, Larned Pride program, gave updates on the Splash Pad and Doerr Vernon Park projects.
They gave updates and plans for another Extreme Weekend. They gave updates on another grant “Time for a Change” with the Pawnee County Health Department.
Murray told commissioners that Preisner was named Pride Partner of the Year, by the Department of Commerce for her work and help with the projects.
Commissioners signed payroll change form for Stacey Smith, merit raise, effective March 20.
10 a.m. — Kurt Demel, Pawnee County highway administrator, received approval for his department to work four 10-hour days. He gave road and other updates.
Commissioners went through mail.
10:55 a.m. — Jack Holland and John Harris, Country Club Bank, public financing group, presented the services they have available for underwriting the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital bonds.
11:40 a.m. — Settle conducted a 20-minute executive session for attorney/client privilege.
1 p.m. — Denise Wood, CC/JJA director, discussed the 2012 comprehensive plan and grant applications.
2:15 p.m. — Kim Barnes, Pawnee Valley Co-op CFO, visited with commissioners regarding economic development.
Commissioners approved a quote from Quality Glass to replace door sweeps for first floor for $104.60.
2:30 p.m. — A 20-minute executive session was held for personnel exception.
2:50 p.m. — Settle; and John Jeter, M.D., HaysMed president and CEO; Dale Montgomery, Shae Veach, HaysMed vice president regional operations; Matt Heyn, PVCH administrator; David Wright, Health Facilities Group, vice president, medical planning and architecture; Pete Schartz, First State Bank, senior vice president.
The group discussed and reviewed the Health Facilities Group Construction Management Criteria for point system.
After much discussion, the Murray Company was named the winner of the Construction Management At-Risk contract for the new Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.
4:30 p.m. — Scott King, Pawnee County sheriff, and Derek Slack, undersheriff, received a quote from A.C.Painting, for labor only for $3,200, for painting at the sheriff’s office.
Commissioners accepted the quote for painting from A.C. Painting. The sheriff will get quotes from Doerrs and Wilson Lumber for the paint, and accept the best quote, to be paid from general fund, special projects.
The sheriff provided updates on activities and plans. He discussed dispatching.
Commissioners approved a quote from Manatron for the upgrade needed for the AS400, at $7,447, to be paid from equipment reserve.
Commissioners read and approved minutes of March 28.
Commissioners approved and signed checks for payables.
4:55 p.m. — The meeting was adjourned until April 11.
