LARNED — The Pawnee County Commission met at 8:45 a.m. June 25 for a regular meeting at the Pawnee County Courthouse. The following are approved minutes submitted by Pawnee Commission clerk Ruth Searight.
Pawnee County commissioners Donna Pelton, chair; Kathy Bowman and John C. Haas were present.
Mark Hinde, SDSI, Inc., presented and discussed proposed 2013 budget and appropriation request.
• Commissioners read, corrected and approved minutes of June 18, 2012.
9:20 a.m. — Commissioners recessed to attend the funeral of Timothy Parker, Pawnee County employee.
10:30 a.m. — Commissioners sorted through mail.
• Commissioners signed Change Order 2011-64.
• Commissioners approved and signed checks for payables.
11 a.m. — Commissioners conducted a conference call with Matt Heyn, Pawnee Valley Community Hospital administrator, regarding pharmacy hood changes. Approval passed for $36,110 for pharmacy hood changes.
11:30 a.m. — Kevin Simmons, Kim Beckwith, and Paula Carr, Sunrise, Inc. William Nusser, also was present. They gave updates and changes at Sunrise, Inc. They discussed meal charges for jail, staffing and board members. Sunrise Inc. requested $3,000 for 2012 from special alcohol monies. Approval passed for $3,000 from Special Alcohol Fund for Sunrise, Inc. for 2012.
• John Settle, Pawnee County Attorney, discussed the Larned/Pawnee County Airport.
1:30 p.m. — Anna Bassford, and Pete Schartz, Santa Fe Trail Center, gave updates on new personnel and changes at the Santa Fe Trail Center. They presented and discussed the 2013 appropriation request.
2 p.m. — Jenny Manry, Larned Pride Committee, gave updates on grants, plans and goals for Camp Pawnee. She discussed other grants that the Larned Pride Committee might make application.
2:30 p.m. — Courtland Holman, Larned Chamber of Commerce director; Rita Kurtz, Tyson Steffen and Pete Schartz, PCEDC. They discussed activities and plans. They discussed the 2013 appropriation request.
Holman informed the commissioners of a meeting in Stafford County with the other invited counties Thursday.
Holman discussed E-Communities. He discussed ROZ Program. He discussed Kearney and Associates.
• Commissioners approved a burn ban for all of Pawnee County for seven days.
3:30 p.m. — The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting was scheduled at 9 a.m. July 2.
