LARNED — Zach Wilson and Megan Foster were the overall top finishers in the 5-kilometer portion of the 2nd Annual Pawnee Valley Medical Campus Benefit Fun Run/Walk June 2.
There were 11 participants in the 1-mile race and 40 participants in the 5K race.
The event raised $5,300 to be donated to the Fort Larned Foundation for Education. The money will be targeted to send Larned High School student trainers to Garden City to attend the Student Athletic Training Camp offered by Garden City Community College and Sandhill Orthopedics and Sport Medicine of Garden City this summer.
The funds will also purchase the required essential athletic training supplies to be utilized during the 2012-13 school year.
“Pawnee Valley Medical Campus would like to give a special thank you to all the sponsors and volunteers,” said co-organizer Luke Geer. “Without their support this event would not have been possible. Great job racers and hope to see you again next year.”
