LARNED — The Santa Fe Trail Center will offer a special presentation on Caring for Your Keepsakes at the Trail Center’s auditorium at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 19.
Terry Wickstrum, Santa Fe Trail Center’s educator/archivist, will offer visitors timely tips to better preserve and display their keepsakes.
Wickstrum said everyone has something special — a letter, photograph, wedding dress, or medal — that reminds them of a friend or relative.
“Maybe you want to display it for family and friends to enjoy,” she said. “Maybe you want to keep it safe to pass on to your children or grandchildren. Come out and learn how best to care for your something special.”
Half-price admission to the program will be offered June 19 — adults $2; students ages 12 to 18  $1.50, children ages 6 to 11, 75 cents. Fort Larned Historical Society members are always free. Half-price admission is offered every third Sunday.
The Santa Fe Trail Center, two miles west of Larned on K-156, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information, call (620) 285-2054 or visit the web site www.santafetrailcenter.org.
