ROZEL — Nate Bartley is a deputy for Edwards County.
But once a year, Bartley dons his cowboy hat for his hometown of Rozel. The Pawnee Heights High School graduate worked for the Pawnee County sheriff’s department and served as a volunteer firefighter in Rozel.
Bartley is the guy behind the scenes who booked Nashville singing duo Walker McGuire for Saturday’s community concert. Gates open at 6 p.m. following the 5 p.m. pig roast.

Bartley is friends with Andrew Clark, manager for the Jacob Martin Band. Clark got Bartley in contact with Walker McGuire. Walker McGuire will perform at Garden City’s Jax’s Sports Bar & Grill Friday night.
“I like to sign up-and-coming acts,” Bartley said. “You never know if that group will hit it big some day. You’d love to say you saw them.”
The two were discovered by Big D and Bubba, the hosts of a nationally syndicated radio show. Big D and Bubba offered Walker McGuire to be aired on “Chasin’ The Dream,” a weekly radio show.
Their songs include “The Color Pink”, “Hurry On Home” “Ole What’s Her Name,” “American Dream,” “Best Kind of Bad,” “Holly Would.”
