Pounding the pavement
Gov. Jeff Colyer, center, visits Venture Corporation on Saturday after spending part of the day in Ellinwood. The Governor took a tour of Venture and got a-behind-the-scenes look at how an asphalt company works. The tour started in the lab, which stores rock samples that have been used in roads around Kansas. It continued to the hot room where asphalt samples are heated, and then outside for a look at all the equipment that is used in making roads.
