Pre-enrollment opens for Great Bend’s youngest students

Park Elementary students from Mrs. Touslee’s 2019-2020 kindergarten class explore their “5 senses” on a nature hike field trip last fall. Families of incoming kindergartners are asked to contact their future school to complete pre-enrollment information by May 29, 2020.

Registration is now open for families who plan to enroll students in USD 428’s kindergarten or Riley preschool program for the 2020-2021 school year. 

“These kindergarten students will be the graduating class of 2033,” said Tricia Reiser, director of teaching and learning for USD 428. “While the dates of Kindergarten Round-up are still to be determined by each building, it is important for our schools to begin gathering pre-enrollment information so we can anticipate the size of next year’s kindergarten classes in Great Bend.”

Students entering kindergarten must turn 5 on or before August 31, 2020. Parents/guardians are asked to contact their student’s future school before May 29 to begin the pre-enrollment process.

Riley Elementary is also pre-enrolling preschool students for 3 and 4-year old preschool classes that are scheduled to begin in August. While priority is given to families who live within the Riley boundary, additional spaces for this free preschool program will be offered to children from across Great Bend.
