new re Accident

Two people were taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital on Thursday after a vehicular pursuit by law enforcement ended in a collision. Kansas Highway Patrol reports a 2004 Cadillac driven by Howard L. Johnson, 21, Wichita, was being pursued by the Great Bend Police Department and the Barton County Sheriff’s Office at 4:37 p.m. in the 2300 block of 19th St., near Great Bend High School.
The driver lost control and the Cadillac began to slide sideways, hitting a 2003 Chevy pickup which was legally parked on the north side of the road, and then struck a power pole, severing it at ground level.
Johnson and his passenger, Antonyo D. Miller, 37, of Great Bend, were taken to the hospital with undetermined injuries. Johnson was wearing a seat belt; Miller was not.
The car and pickup were both removed by Marshall’s Towing.
