Red Velvet Cake War
Great Bend Community Theatre production opens Thursday, April 25
RVCW-1

Great Bend Community Theatre’s next production is a hilarious comedy, “Red Velvet Cake War.”

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 25-27, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, at the Crest Theater, 1905 Lakin Ave.

The story, by Jones Hope Wooten, is described as a riotously funny Southern-fried comedy. “The three Verdeen cousins – Gaynelle, Peaches, and  Jimmie Wyvette – could not have picked a worse time to throw their family reunion. Their outrageous antics have delighted local gossips in the small town of Sweetgum and the eyes of Texas are upon them. Add a high-stakes bet on who can make the best red velvet cake and things start to spin out of control!”

The cast features Madison Hembree, Erin Ferguson, Denise Williams, Sarah Gonzales, K.B. Bell, Janice Perez, Cathy Anderson, Scott Mickle, Ashley Wood, Charlie Dixon, Teresa Frieb and Matthew Jones. Holly Johnson is the director and Karen Gore is assistant director.
