Rev. Clay to visit Grace Community

The Rev. Loyce Clay, retired AME pastor, will be a special guest pastor during services at 8:40 and 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2 at Grace Community Church, 210 McKinley St. in Great Bend. The 86-year-old Clay left Grace Community Church this spring.

Holy Family School announces Back to School Bash for school supporters

Holy Family School will hold its Back To School Bash: We Are Family, at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Great Bend.
Tickets are $25 per person, which provides entrance to the event, one free drink and appetizers. HFS Principal Karen Moeder said this is a time to celebrate the new school year with socializing, a live auction and a silent auction. Proceeds help support the school.
The event is sponsored by the Holy Family School Council. Tickets may be purchased from any Holy Family School teacher or council member, or the school office, 4200 Broadway Ave..

Immaculate Conception Altar Society taking donations for Fun Night drawing

CLAFLIN — The Immaculate Conception Altar Society of Claflin will have a roast beef dinner and Fun Night on Sunday, Sept. 23.
Members will serve roast beef and all the trimmings from 5-7 p.m. at the Parish Center. Activities after supper will include bingo, cake wheel, fish pond, Plinko and a raffle for a quilt, cash and other prizes. Raffle tickets are available now through any Altar Society member.
