WICHITA — The Jehovah’s Witnesses’ district convention will be held July 6-8 at the Century II Convention Center, 225 West Douglas Ave., Wichita. An estimated 8,000 people will attend this event and/or the Spanish convention to be held Aug. 17-19 for Bible-based programs, sponsors said.
Spokesman Lewis Smith said Jehovah’s Witnesses feel that all, including non-Witnesses, will benefit from the positive message and practical suggestions that will be highlighted at the 2012 “Safeguard Your Heart!” convention program.
Admission is free. The first of the two three-day conventions will start at 9:20 a.m. Friday. Locally, all of the area’s 20 congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses will support the activity of distributing printed invitations to the convention. Throughout the United States, there will be 385 conventions in  203 cities. Worldwide, there are over 7.6 million Witnesses in more than 109,000 congregations.
