The Heartland Center for Spirituality will explore Christian contemplation through photography with an online study of the book “Eyes of the Heart: Photography as a Christian Contemplative Practice,” by Christine Valters Paintner.
The online study will run from May 1 through June 28.
Ann Axman at the Center notes that participants are able to attend at a time of their own choosing with an online course.
“The exercises will take you through a detailed program for feeling and reflecting on what is visible in the photos you take or on further reflection what you are able to see that you did not before,” Axman said. “Our website will allow you to share your pictures and thoughts with the rest of the participants in the class. Each week we will explore a new chapter and have the forum for you to share your pictures, your thoughts and feelings.
“No fancy camera needed,” Axman continued. “You can even use the camera on your phone.”
Participants will be billed $5 for the course, and will need to purchase their own copy of the book. For registration information send email to Axman at marketing@heartlandspirituality.org.
