Presbyterians selling used books Saturday for mission project

Great Bend’s First Presbyterian Church will have a used book sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, located at 24th and Washington.
There will be a variety of books for children and adults, and bundles of magazines on specialized topics, priced at $1 or less.
A special table will feature vintage and antique books with copyrights ranging from the 1800s through the very early 20th century. Prices on these books will reflect their value.
All proceeds from this sale will go to Barton County Emergency Aid and the church’s Crisis Management program.

Charlie Pleskac center, (pronounced Plus-scotch) has purchased the Great Bend Dairy Queen. The Nebraska native has made a career of DQ ownership.
Most everyone who was a kid in the 1960s and ‘70s remembers their first Jack & Jill sundae at Dairy Queen.
