The Trinity Lutheran Church Social Concerns Team will host its annual fundraiser and the proceeds this year will be donated to the Oaks Indian Mission in Oklahoma. The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 27, 2014 following the 10:30 a.m. Worship Service in the Fellowship Hall. Trinity Lutheran Church is located at 24th & Adams in Great Bend.
The Social Concerns Team will serve a fried chicken meal with ice cream and brownies for dessert. There will be a freewill offering taken with all proceeds going to the Oaks Indian Mission. The mission was established in 1926 and is located 65 miles east of Tulsa, Okla. Its primary focus is the education of Native American young people.
The Rev. Dr. Gordon Peterson, executive director of Oaks Indian Mission, will be sharing the goals and accomplishments of this mission. He will be talking to the children during the Sunday School hour; and following the noon meal he will share a presentation and videos with all.
