Workshop offered on preserving church histories

“Embrace Your Heritage,” a workshop for local church historians, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Student Activities Center at Kansas Wesleyan University, located at Claflin Ave. and South Fourth St. in Salina. The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Registration is $25, which includes lunch. Deadline for registration is Oct. 19.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide local church historians and interested persons with information on how to record, preserve and present their histories. This event is sponsored by the Kansas Area Commission on Archives and History of The United Methodist Church. However, it is open to anyone regardless of conference or denomination who is interested in recording, preserving or presenting their local church history.
