An equipment purchase for the Road and Bridge Department is on the agenda for the Barton County Commission meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, at the courthouse. Darren Williams, County Works director, said the Road and Bridge Department has a fleet of heavy equipment that is utilized throughout the year. Recently, staff determined that the addition of a heavy-duty tire changer would improve operations. In addition to staff safety, time management and productivity would be improved while reducing maintenance costs. It is suggested that the Hunter TCX635PHD be purchased for a total cost, including freight, of $23,276.47. Equipment Replacement funds are available for this proposed purchase.
