When the Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education meets on Monday, Eisenhower Elementary School Principal JoAnn Blevins and Little Panthers Preschool Director Amanda Moran-Jones will give an update on plans to open the new preschool in August. The board will meet at 5 p.m. at the District Education Center, 201 S. Patton Road.

The board will also be asked to approve a COVID stipend for district employees, using federal funds earmarked to address the pandemic, to show appreciation for the additional efforts of certified and classified staff due to COVID-19.

Other items on the agenda include recognition of the community members who make the Perfect Attendance Bike Giveaway Program possible; approval of student insurance and workers compensation insurance; continuing the School Mental Health Initiative Partnership; and policy revisions. The board will approve 2021-2022 fees, meal prices, and the annual mileage reimbursement to qualified parents/guardians for families that reside 2.5 miles or more from school.
